Jake's go supercrossing
« on: January 16, 2009, 11:30:07 PM »
Well I have sat on this until I felt sure that everything ws going to work out. The tickets are paid for and sitting at will call. The rental car is paid for and the room is waiting on us. Jake's first super cross race is next saturday! Ada and I will be going to show support. Yea we get to see the race and that will be fun but his first super cross pro race. We have been working for this for years. We have team tickets so we have access to the pits and the track! We are stoked to say the least.

My daughter and son in law live in Huston so we will be staying with them. We are going on the cheap  ;D

I'm not sure for the races that he will be able to make this year. We are all working to find sponsorship that is willing to help offset the fuel and hotel cost. Race fuel in up this year! Way up! The cycle shop can only do so much. He is teaching MX schools here at the track to help. We are hopeful for a good year!

I will post the races that he will be be at. Look for Jake Lowry 231

He will at Indy but he will be going with two of his friends they are also pro riders. Indy race is between Atlanta and Daytona. We are trying to make the Atlanta race and so we will not make the Indy race. The daytona race is on a Friday and we all have to work so we will not make that race either. His plan is to make all the east season races. Check the race dates and show some support for this youg man.

Thanks
Mark

MAy go to Indy if I have the $$$. I have a lot of plans and not enough money for any of them, lol.

It always amazes me that the Indy Suprcross always sells out. That's pretty awesome. We were going to go last year because I was off that day and we were bored, but the there were no tickets to be had.

Mark,

I watched most of the coverage on television today, but I couldn't find you in the crowd.  It looked like an interesting track, but the first two turns after the start looked waaaay tight and seemed to cause a lot of problems on the first lap.   Hope you had a great trip.

And what is this thing "vacation" you speak of ? ?

Vacation is time when you don't go to work everyone wants you to work you don't get paid and the people who work for you make excuses on why they don't want to go and do the work or can't do the work. When they do go they have to call you 15 time to ask questions.

You are right the two first turn where why too tight. Jake did not make the race. He missed by .3 of a second! he crashed in the second timed qualifying so he had to stand on his first run. Atlanta is the next stop.

That is reason to keep at it. .3 seconds - Yup, he'll get in one this year if he can keep the pegs from digging in the dirt too much. Any day racing in which you get on the track is a success. From there it's all gravy. Just some gravy is better - not crashing, making the big race, finishing the big race, finishing the big race well, and well, ya know... More and greater success to come.

Looks like I'm not gonna try to race Roebling/Daytona this year. Just gonna try to do some track days with Cooter and maybe race Mid-Ohio/VMD. I need to trek down to Miss. and get my bike. ;)
