Motorcycle road racing in KY!!!!

Just checked the WERA website and the 09 schedule. June 12-14 is a WERA National event at Sparta, KY - I assume this is the Kentucky Speedway facility. [Note to Ty, since he is wondering about riding in Louisville, this track is very close to Loo-vul.] Racing will include a 4-hour endurance race. We need to schedule a meet-up at this event and support racing in a new state. To my knowledge there has never been motorcycle roadracing in KY, ever. I could be wrong, but since it's going this year, I want a good turn out and for it to return every year, and more.

Hmm. If I could get a good PI case, with plenty of insurance coverage (usually cases either have bad injuries and no coverage, or huge coverage and no injury) I could just get a race team or Team Bluegrass membership, and we'd be "In like Flynt."  Hmmm. Now if I could just get that good case.

Yeah, and that's just for 6 weekends (or is that 6 weekend days?) per year, unlimited weekdays ($50 per day fee for weekdays). Julie thought it was a great idea until she heard the initiation fee, and the daily use fees for weekdays.

Then there's the upper level  (whatever it's called) initiation fee $9900 one time. $280 month. 18 weekend days and no daily fees for unlimited weekday use. Really a better deal, .... if you are a rich bastard. If only...

I think membership in sportbiketracktime.com is a much better option for most of us. $35/year. Reasonable daily rates for track time. They have plenty of dates at Bluegrass, Mid-Ohio and other good and great tracks. I'm seriously considering going to track days instead of racing this coming year. Cooter could even get back on track with the venerable DR.

www.sportbiketracktime.com will have a weekend session (Sat. & Sun.) every month from April - Oct. at Bluegrass. $35 membership fee, don't know the fees for each day, but expect $135-175 per day. includes lunch, drinks, morning fruit/doughnuts and free instruction if you want it. Can use your street bike with minimal track prep. Seems like the deal to me.
