Thanks for the invite to the Corner Lot, Mark. We may try to take you up on your kindness once the weather cools off a bit. I'm still hoping to find a cheap CRF or XR at some point in the not too distant future.
But I've been saying that for two years now and something always gets in the way, like spinal surgery.
Speaking of the surgery, I got the neck brace off last wednesday. Man, does it feel nice not to have to wear that thing all the time! My neck feels pretty good...a little stiffness and soreness but overall, not too bad. Range of motion is increasing day by day.
I was hoping the most recent xray would show a whole bunch of bone growth. Alas, that was not the case. In fact, if the doctor hadn't shown me the thin, barely visible line on the picture, I wouldn't have noticed a difference between the xray taken 4 weeks prior and the new xray. He seemed to think that was normal though and said in 16 months time, I'll have a "big old slug of bone there."
My biggest issue now is keeping myself OFF the bike for the time being.
