Polar Bear 09
« on: December 14, 2008, 07:56:18 PM »
OK, let's get the ball rolling and see who can possibly go, and where we want to meet. I figure arrive either Dec. 31 or early Jan. 1. Ride a few miles, shoot the breeze, catch up and see how much we have all aged, etc. Then go home whenever you need to leave. Bike or no bike, try to show up. We get a list of who all might be able to go, then decide on where to meet and when. We need to get this rolling quickly.

I'm trying to get everything lined out on my end, but nothing is final yet. I'll probably be Jan. 1 early arrival instead of a New Year's Eve arrival though.

Post up, let's get information flowing.

I'm watching and interested, but I'm a maybe at best.   The grand-daughter is supposed to be visiting that weekend.    And it seems like the Polar Bear is always 500 miles from my house riding into the crappy weather. . . . . yeah I know, Polar Bear . . . . .   but I don't think the R.Markus technique of sheet metal screws and a drill will work real well on the VFR.     :-\

I'm taking the girls to Texas to visit family they've never met.   :)

Not coming back until after the 1st of Jan.   :(

Have a good time... I'd love to break out the KLR for this!

2 in and 1 maybe.  ??? Come on guys. Let's go ride. My objective is to set up 3-4 rides this year for us all to get together.

Matt, pick the spot. You know Cincy better than me. Someplace easy to find for me coming from out of town.

As with years in the past I would assume this is a game day decision.

I suggest the same as years past if that's OK...   Meet somewhere in Norther KY, run through rabbit hash?  End up at that Hofbrau House?

If the weather is not cooperating we just punt.

I'm good as long as the roads are reasonable...  Black Ice has been a bigger issue this year than years past IMHO.  Days like today 2 degrees with 30-40 mph bursts don't get me excited to ride :)

Yeah, I gotta agree Matt. But Saturday was nice. Wish I could have gotten the bike out. It was Jules' birthday, so I wasn't going awol.

How about we just set an exit off of I-75/71 in N.Ky. and a gas station or whatever to meet at, around say 10-11am. All can post up NYE who is going. Give us a meeting point, chief.

We can meet at my house.

I have the 1st and 2nd off. We'll see, but I doubt I can make it down there.

I'm guessing this is going no where. Hope some find temps and conditions good enough for a few miles on Thursday. I guess I'll just putt around town when the temps get up above freezing.

Guess I'll try for a dirt or dual-sport ride tomorrow.   I haven't ridden anywhere except commuting for months.   The weather here is supposed to be pretty nice; clear and in the 50's for the high.

Wishing everyone a fun and safe 2009.

My bad...   We have been somewhat in crisis, including internet crisis for the last 10 days.   All is well now.

I plan to get out tomorrow if even for a little bit.

We will get together in the spring.   Since there is no more Honda Hoot, mebe we'll just have to bring a little economic stimulus to TN.
