Louisville, KY--what's it like?
« on: December 11, 2008, 03:23:42 PM »
I'm lookin' at a couple of possible jobs in the vicinity of Louisville.  Does anybody have experience living around Louisville?  Most importantly, how close is it to good riding?

Edit...guess it helps if I spell the dang town correctly. ::)

It's not bad, I'd liken it to very similar to Cincinnati...  Good riding is NOT far away...

Rolling hills (little ones) just out of town. South and east it only get better with every mile. Not a bad place for riding at all. Just not in town.

Any direction you go from Louisville has some great rides that start within 20 or so miles. I generally ride about 10 or 15 miles on the interstate just to get past the sprawl, and then you can ride for hours on some very good roads wit little traffic. Depending on where you live there are some fun roads on the outskirts, but they are generally more trafficked and have lower posted speeds.
