Ride Report - Death Valley Dualsport
« on: June 08, 2008, 06:41:51 PM »
The real trip report is in the works and long overdue, but I thought I would get some content on the new board.   Here are a few pictures; with more to come with the full report.

I drove out to Death Valley in January with the 640 Adventure and my old DRZ which I had sold to my college roommate.   He flew into Las Vegas and I picked him up at the airport.   We drove over to DV and met my brother who had driven down from north of San Francisco with his DRZ.

We camped at the Furnace Creek Campground along with several other riders my brother knew from San Francisco.    We saw temps between 29 F and 80 F; winds up to 65mph; sunny, clear skies, rain, hail, and snow; and billions of stars at night.   I would recommend a visit to Death Valley to anyone with a street legal dualsport.   It’s a fabulous and amazing place.

Day 1 – Headed up to a pass and the snow!   I thought this was a desert.

Sunset in Death Valley (Yes, these are the real colors; no enhancement)

Leeo45 and the 640Adv in Echo Canyon

Dumont Dunes (on the south border of DV Park)

My brother on the DRZ400

Me, high-tracking on the 640.   Just be careful going over the top.   :o

Headed Home from Furnace Creek – 190 feet below sea level

More to come.......
