Tire Changing Videos
« on: June 08, 2008, 07:13:34 AM »
Very useful videos if you change your own dirt bike tires.   It's not hard to do, and it's a very useful skill to have before you head out on the trail.

Are these like the No-Mar Videos?   :'(

We're getting better at it but it's nothing like they showed us with their worn out and stretched 'demo-tires'.

I watched a vid of a guy (forget his name, multi-GNCC Champ that use to ride KDX's) change a tube on a rear tire on a KDX in 5 minutes with very primitive tools.

Was impressive as hell.

No, these are not related to No-Mar. He just uses 3 small tire irons, Windex, and baby powder.   You can use the same basic technique on the side of the road.   One of the most insightful comments he makes is something like:  "If it seems hard, you're probably doing something wrong."

I've seen a video similar to the one you mention.   It was Jeff Freddette; Kawasaki rider in the ISDE's.   What makes it much more impressive is that he's changing a tire with Tire Balls, not a regular tube.   They make it at least ten times harder and he still does it in less than 5 minutes.    :o
