Timing chain and sprockets ready to be removed.

That's not so good.

Top end removed.

Checking pistons for wear.

Check bore.

And she's outta spec....and I have this.

OH...OH, new parts arrived! New cam chain and tensioner

New cylinders and pistons: the crank, rods and pistons were all balanced and all other bearing surfaces within the engine were within spec.

Buttoned up and ready for the tranny

Gotta take a break....Billy Frist and Barock are callin': ya know, that whole healthcare thing.  ;D

Time to get the frame back together. I cobbled together this..

...and put the steering stem bearing back in place.

I thought I got all the powder coat outta the swingarm: WRONG!

Out came the dremel tool and the race was beaten into submission.

The rest of the powder coat was removed and new races installed.

Frame and engine are reunited!

Next lots of stuff was test fit.

Master cylinders were rebuilt and the wiring reinstalled.

Exhaust was back from ceramic coating and the charging system was put together.

All three calipers were rebuilt.

Custom made braided brake lines were assembled and installed.

Dash lights were installed and tested.

Blinkers work.

I used wheels from a different model, so a friend with a lathe made custom spacers.

And she was ready to ride!

I'm still working through some issues, but I've put about 150 miles on her and changed the oil. The old oil looked brand new with no metal on the magnetic plugs. Woohoo! Now I've just got some little stuff to tiddy up and ride, baby ride.  :)
