Cooter, look what I did to the Buell! V2.0

Stupid dog ran out in front of my on my way to work.  The dog is gone to doggy purgatory for destroying a lovely Buell. I have a couple broken bones in my foot.  The TCX boots saved my foot from being crushed by the bike when we went hard over the right side and the bike landed on my foot.  Helmet, jacket, and gloves all did their part...jeans...not so much.






I will miss that bike and hope I can find another one just like it.

Not to rape the corpse or anything. But if they do total it (and you aren't getting another one) I would be honored to buy your mounts if you can get them off.

The insurance adjuster hasn't come out to look at the bike yet...but with the chunk of casting missing around the steering head, I'm guessing its a goner.   I'll be pulling the mounts off before the bike goes bye-bye.  What I'm not sure of is what type of replacement I'll get.  I'm pretty sure I'll be looking for another 1125.  But, I'm also lusting after a Triumph Speed Triple.  We'll just have to see what happens with insurance money and what bikes are available and how patient I can be with an insurance check burning a hole through my pocket.

Ouch man, sorry for your loss.

If it's any consolation.  There was a dude at the Dragon Saturday who had 'blown' his 1125 up.  Wasn't your typical squid.  It was a 2008 (for which he paid retail a year before the big announcement, ouch).  They were from WV, so a little far from home to be stranded with a bike that sounded like a box of marbles.   It was still "under warranty".

Be interesting to find out if they just replace his bike or 'total' it and give him some form of pro-rated pay out.

Well, turns out I'm not very patient.  I found a good deal on one of the bikes that was on my short list of replacement rides and brought it home last night (early this morning actually).  I still have to wear the soft boot thing on my foot until next week, so I'm going to try and be a good boy and not ride the bike until then.  I did ride it down the street before I bought it and she is a sweet little thang!
