2010 MD 2020

Dad and I are gearing up for the 2010 MD 2020 next weekend.

This year's special bonus selections completely suck.

This whole rallying thing is getting too complicated to be much fun anymore.  While looking at this stuff, I'm thinking to myself, I get paid good money to think this hard.  I just want to ride.

We'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Right now to score big you gotta go big or go home.  We're talking 1700 miles in 32 hours minus a rest bonus and actually getting your ass off your bike to go hunt some of these.  A couple require a good bit of walking.

Not too shabby for (3) guys who rode together all-the-way.

Two riders are not as fast as one and three are not as fast as two.   That being said, I don't think the hit we took for doing so was _that_ bad.  We've all ridden together for probably 20,000 miles, maybe more.

We ran a good route, not too conservative, but certainly not over the top.   We did however get 4 hours of sleep (min requirement was 2.5).  So that extra 1.5 hours plus the time dicking around (probably 5 hours total) was 2.5 hours less riding time than the top guys.   That's probably 200 more rally miles.

Bottom line though, we finished, finished respectfully, and didn't feel beat to shit the following day.
