Seems we had a lapse in the mileage tracking last year.  I know I was very busy with 7 grandkids and taking up golf again after a 9-year hiatus. Those and a few other interests have kept me off the bikes to the point that my 2009 miles came to a measly 24329, nearly 6K short of 2008.  I doubt this year will be much better an quite possibly much worse as I am pretty heavy into redeveloping my golf game back to the days when I carried a solid 5 handicap.

I've also made a personal commitment to lose some tonnage this year, so I have dusted off the TREK-730 hybrid and started riding a pedal powered two-wheeler again.  I know I won't get anywhere near the mileage of another un-named TWTer, but I'm gonna do my best to stick with it and shoot for at least 1000 pedaling miles this season.  Already had four rides totaling 27.6 miles --  Not bad for an old fat guy.

What say ye?  Anyone else want to track two-wheeled miles both motored and pedaled?

edited to note: I was just updating my spreadsheet for the upcoming year of tacking miles and realized that some time during commuting to work last week I passed the 300K mark on BMWs.  Shocked

Cool on the 300k mark and your yearly for 09 still beats the rest of us here. You are the bench mark for the rest of us, I believe.

I got my new bike 9/12/09 and it had 14mi. on the odo. Haven't ridden since sometime in early Dec., so the odo remains at 3272. I am now officially behind on my goal of 12k for the first 12 mos.

I'm up if anyone wants to log miles. I'm also up for just posting your unverified milage, since we are a small group and hey, what does anyone have to gain. I'm sure Cruizin is fully aware there is no prize money handed out here. If there was, he'd have it all.

ya, I started out doing the tracking due to the BMW MOA thing.  Now that I have let that membership lapse, I just do it to come up with new uses for Excel spreadsheets.  I have learned a lot about various formula combinations, conditional formatting, etc. from putting together mileage tracking sheets and caloric expenditure sheets for the bicycle rides.

well, it's been a while since I felt the need to post here.  I guess because there seemed to be little to no interest.  I just thought I might update both the gasoline powered miles as well as the "me" powered  Grin

I've only logged ~4600 miles on the R12 since the first of the year.  That's WAAAAY behind what I had the previous few years.  In fact last year's miles by this time of year were nearly at 14K.  But as mentioned earlier, the drop is due to other interests including the miles on a pedal-powered two wheeler.  And since my last posting I have acquired a bit higher quality road road bike to compliment the Trek and hopefully keep me more motivated.  On March 6, I lucked into a pretty sweet deal on a used Felt F80, 27 speed road bike.  Man is this thing easy to make roll with all those gears and weighing only 21 pounds.  Any way, to date I have logged 294 miles on the Felt and 78 on the Trek for a total of 372.  I have even done a few rides that I consider long-ish; one of 32 miles, 34 miles and 40 miles for my three highest.  I know that's not a lot compared to some others both locally and some here on the website, but I do have to battle high winds most of the time and there is nothing but hills where I live, so I get some pretty good calorie burn even on the short 12 to 15 mile rides.

OK, enough about me; anyone else taking up the pedaling challenge?  I know many of you are probably ahead of me on the scooter miles this year.

I'm still not ahead of you on the motorcycle, even with the MD2020 included, but I'm probably close.

I did all my two-wheeled pedal power when I was a kid.  I just don't enjoy that.  I've tried, both mountain bikes (and only wished I was on a dirt bike) and a road bike where I wished I had something on the right to twist.

Call me what I am, fat and lazy Smiley

I found it was easier to get a fun house mirror on ebay.  Instant 30LB loss, or so it appears. Smiley

today (8-12-10) is 11 months I've had the Hardley. It has 11,180 miles on it. I caught up my monthly average.  Grin

I've only done about 7K on the bikes this year: too busy with work. Cruisin', I'm always impressed with your miles. Gar's gotta couch.  Tongue

However I've done around 300 on my mountian bike in the last 3 year. Not a ton, but it keeps me in shape. I have to chase a little one.  Grin
