Surely someone is riding something somewhere. Ada and I have been stuck in the garage with cold wet weather. We are going to try to get out today.

I have been fighting a cold/Flu now for a couple weeks.  Nothing like having a coughing fit, or sneezing fit inside your helmet.

As a result I haven't ridden for a couple of weeks (The Hill Climb was my last outing).

I hope to get back to it this week...

About 20 miles yesterday. Was going to ride today, and would have been nice now, but was cold this morning - 43 at home (no prob) but 32 where I was going (that's cold).

I got a message from a guy on LDRider list about doing an eval on some new Avon tires (new tire for 2010 Harleys) needs someone with a 2010 to try them out and give impressions. Needs to log 3000 mi asap. So I'm trying to squirm my way into a free set of tires, and an excuse to ride as much as possible between now and Christmas.  Grin

Hopefully I'll be riding quite a bit over the next month or 2.

Ya know, I went back recently and looked at my IBA cert. They send you a copy of the page where you show up on their list. I looked at the bikes on the list. It had more Harleys on it than any other brand. Something I had noticed quite some time ago and wanted to look at again. Just sayin'. Prejudice is usually not based on fact, ya know.

Ha ha!...  I love your new bike.  It fits you.  Smiley

That being said, QTY not equal to quality...  The Harley is a fine LD platform.  I would guess though that they have the highest ratio of one-off certs.

There are just LOTS of big IBA group rides like Hoagy's hero's that are dominated by Harleys.

I think the redwing ride set the record this year for most riders to do a SS.  I forget the number but it was around 390 bikes that officially finished, mostly Harleys me thinks.

We all know that there are probably more certs for BMW overall than any other bike. Honda probably 2d with the Wing and ST series. But, there's this guy who has over 1 million miles on the same bike. A Harley. The only bike listed. 4 of 14 bikes to complete 100k in 1 year are Harley. Just very few IBR completions on a Harley. Half of longest month 30k in 30 days are Harley. Only 20/20 insanity is Harley. Most riders in the IBA just do 1 cert and no more. Regardless of brand of bike. I think that if you look at the rest of the certs, you'll see plenty of Harleys. ANd in the bigger rides, there are a fair share of Harleys. I don't think anyone can really claim that any bike is not a quality LD mount. And to say Harley is not a Quality LD mount, in my opinion ignores the actual evidence in the IBA logs.

I did manage to get the bike out for a little ride yesterday. The weather dryed up and the temp was 71. Just a great day to ride. We were slow and we had all the calls cought up so I got the wing out and rode to Vicksburg. I meet up with a friend in Bovina and rode into Vicksburg. Rode around stopped at the river and rode back to the house. Went out to eat and then back.

It was a short ride but a good one.  Roll Eyes

Work has a little slow and once again I found myself heading out for a ride. I looked over and saw this realy nice black bike that had not been out in a while. So I pushed it out and washed it off, changed the oil and hit the road.

Now I got to thinking Where was I going and What was I going to do. I could not come up with a plan. So when all else fails head to the Natchez Trace. What the hell it's slow but the views are great. Not to meantion that the leaves are changing and that makes for good pics. Right?
