XR100
« on: July 07, 2008, 05:52:36 PM »
After a lot of begging, my wife finally let me get an XR100. I found one on Ebay that had hardley been used and ended up being only $900...plus it was only over in Chicago.

My daughter and my wife riding it in the yard...

After riding a friend of mine's XR100 in April I had to have one...

Then after taking American Supercamp and riding them for two days, my wife was not exactly opposed to the idea...

It's a fun little bike. It's tearing up our back yard pretty good...and me too. I don't think I've crashed as much on anything else as I do on it.  :D

That's awesome...  I still have ours...  Perhaps I need to beef it up and have some fun.

Add Gar to the mix and we could have a XR 100 weekend. The little bikes are a ton of fun to get around on.

I have a friend who has done ASC twice.   Says he has had a great time and has learned a lot both times.   I think he has also come home sore and bruised.   Apparently a red clay track, a water hose, and an XR100 make for a lot of falls.   ;D

You forgot to add getting hit with sticks and orange cones. I think the cones hurt worse.  ;D

Just got a call back from ASC. They have plenty of space for Nov.- Toledo. They didn't know it wasn't showing up in the drop down box in the sign up. They guy on the phone sounded pretty cool attitude wise. I'm psyched. Haven't signed up, but I gotta get Julie to go now. Been looking at women's riding gear for her this afternoon.

All the guys that work there are super cool.

I just got back from a week of crashing my 640. It's amazing how well the little things you learn at the ASC tranfer over to the bigger KTM...especially in the sand. Using the rear brake to slide around corners worked really well (although in small amounts, not like flat tracking). My dirt skills aren't that god and that was a lot of my problem in the sand before.

Great report over on AdvR.    It looked like a fun trip; and holy cow !  3,500 miles of trails ! !

P.S.   What happened to your steering damper?   I've got the same one.    :-\

The two bolts mounting it backed out and it was loose. It just took a few seconds to retighten it. I should have put thread lock on them (the instructions say not to, but that's the second time that's happened to me this year). It came loose on the sandiest part of that ride, and it was very noticeable.
